Therapy for Adolescents
Adolescence is the stage when we make the transition from child to adult, this usually occurs between 13 and 18.
It is a time in which a great deal of physical and mental change take place, the physical changes often being referred to as puberty. These changes may predispose adolescents to be sensitive, to experience mood swings and to have swings in levels of confidence. For this reason, adolescent therapy is aimed at helping young adults make sense of their feelings, thoughts and behaviours while taking into account this period of vulnerability. We use a wide variety of therapeutic techniques which include:
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- In-depth Therapy
- Schema Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Integrative Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Sandtray Therapy
